“I welcome the government’s announcement on the pilot of Domestic Abuse Protection Orders (DAPOs).

“Bringing together the strongest elements of the existing orders into one cohesive directive will help to provide lasting protection to victims of Domestic Abuse.

“Not only this, but it will also help to give police and the criminal justice system the ability to force tougher restrictions on perpetrators.

“This is a timely, welcomed announcement during 16 Days of Action, and I look forward to seeing the progress of the pilot so that we can give victims the safety and support they deserve.

“This type of action to help to tackle domestic abuse and improving the criminal justice system’s response to this disgusting crime will be instrumental in contributing to the governments ambition of halving VAWG in a decade.”
