Summary

This paper outlines the plans for the Bedfordshire Restorative Justice (RJ) service within the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office over the upcoming months, in line with stage 1 of the police and crime plan (October 2024 to March 2025) and with a view to achieving the objectives of:

  • Double the current availability of staff able to deliver training of restorative practice to staff, officers, and key partners to an approved standard to deliver problem solving mechanisms.
  • Finance the accreditation of restorative justice practitioners who can train officers and staff within the to deliver restorative practices for victims and perpetrators. The training offer will also be extended out to partners across Bedfordshire.

This will be achieved through:

  • Renewing individual membership and Advanced Practitioner registration.
  • Obtaining organisation membership and Training Provider registration.
  • RJ Co-ordinators attending CPD events.
  • Purchasing additional business cards.
